FMF Media – INDUCTION DAY

‘’ It is your attitude at the beginning that determines the success or the failure ‘’

Following the above thought, FMF Media Induction day 2017 was held on 24^th of August 2017 from 1 p.m. onwards at The Faculty of Management and Finance, University of  Colombo.

The kick off session was conducted by the President of FMF Media for the term 2017/2018, Mr Thisal Liyanage.

The Vision and the Mission of the club, the objectives of the club and an overall introduction about the club were given in the first session by Mr.Thisal Liyanage. Afterwards, he announced the first Committee Board of FMF Media and introduced them to the fellow members.

Afterwards, the Vice President Mr.Chathura Gulawita addressed the gathering on the importance of the club for the Personal Development of the members. It was a mind-blowing session since a lot of members were inspired to participate actively in the coming events.

Subsequently, the Chief Coordinator of Sinhala Oratory, Miss.Gihani Kaushalya addressed the audience. She gave an overall idea about the Sinhala Oratory unit and invited members to participate in the activities done by the unit.

After, that Inspiring session by Miss.Gihani Kaushalya, the most interesting session for the day began. It was an exciting game and it broke the monotonous which was about to catch the crowd. After the results were announced the president distributed gifts to the winners.

Next on the agenda was a session by the Chief Coordinator of English Oratory unit, Miss.Supuni Jayawardana. She stressed the importance of developing English Public Speaking, Announcing, Debating and Writing skills to find a better version of you.

Then, the Chief Organizer of the club, Mr.Shehan Hettiacrachchi elaborated more on the benefits and the targets of the club. He stressed on the strength of team work and welcomed the members to the family. The concept of ‘’ Family’’ was communicated well to the audience after this session.

Afterwards, the Chief Coordinator of Web Media unit, Mr.Naleen Rathnayake explained about the Web Media unit and elaborated more on the importance of being a part of the unit. Also, he explained how the blog site will be made and how to effectively use it.

Finally, the Vice President, Mr.Samitha Fernando conducted an interactive session and gave the opportunity to few members to showcase their talents in front of the audience. He concluded the event, stressing on the important messages passed in the event and added few more key points completing the induction day and making it memorable . Also, he acknowledged the people who worked behind the curtains to make this event a success.

The event started with the thought of,

‘’ It is your attitude at the beginning that determines the success or the failure ‘’

And it was concluded with the right attitude the members need to work as a team in making the Vision of the club a reality, addressing the above thought.
